Every song in the SongGenre catalog is an original work: human-written lyrics, original melody and production. When you license a song, you get the right to use that specific recording in your project, under the terms below. All licenses are non-exclusive unless we sign a separate exclusive agreement — meaning the song may also be licensed to others.

Creator License
$99
For YouTubers, podcasters, and indie creators. Use the song in one project or channel (e.g., a video series, a podcast intro). Monetization of your own content is allowed.
Business License
$499
For small businesses: ads, social campaigns, in-store play, corporate videos. One brand or campaign. Use it commercially, forever, for that campaign.
Extended License
$2,500
For regional campaigns, indie films, and larger productions. Covers broader reach and paid media placements.
Exclusive / Buyout
By quote
Full exclusivity — the song is pulled from the catalog and licensed only to you. Priced per project; contact us.
What your license includes
The right to synchronize the song (the recording) with your media — video, ads, podcasts, presentations, in-store audio.
Commercial use within your tier, worldwide, in perpetuity for the licensed project or campaign.
The right to edit for length (e.g., a 30-second cut for an ad), provided the song isn't misrepresented.
What it doesn't include
You may not resell, re-license, or distribute the song as a standalone music product.
You may not claim authorship of the song or register it with a performing-rights organization (e.g., SOCAN, ASCAP, BMI) under your own name.
Public performance royalties (radio, TV broadcast) are administered separately through our performing-rights organization and are not covered by the license fee.
Stems (isolated vocal/instrument tracks) are available by separate agreement.
Credit
Where practical, please credit "Music by Malvyn — songgenre.com". Not required for short-form ads, but always appreciated.
Payment & delivery
Payment is due in full before the license takes effect.
You'll receive the high-quality audio file (WAV) and a written license confirmation by email.
All fees are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise agreed.
